The restaurant did poorly and shut down a year later. But she was later floored when she was named one of Forbes most powerful celebrities in the world. The following months Britney seemed like she was out of control, she was drinking and smoking and partying almost every night of the week, but it was when she performed with Madonna and Christina Aguilera at the MTV’s Video Music Awards singing Like a Virgin, was she again the center of attention. At the end of the song Madonna kisses Christina Aguilera on the mouth and then kisses Britney, that kiss was the talk of the world for many months to come.

Britney and Madonna became soul mates, Britney had long been a fan of Madonna’s so when Madonna began giving Britney some advice on her career, Britney sat up and took notice. Madonna introduced Britney to the world of Kabbalah. She released In the Zone in 2003 and that album is Britney’s claim to fame as a sexual person who isn’t afraid to act it out in her music. Madonna even appeared on the track, Me Against The Music. She began her tour called the Onyx Hotel but she had to cancel the tour on the last leg of the tour due to a knee injury.

She released a greatest hits album in 2004 but she hasn’t been seen musically since then. But that is not to say she has not been seen.

In 2004 while she was in Vegas with a group of friends she married childhood friend Jason Alexander. The marriage was annulled right away. In 2004, Britney began dating a man names Kevin Federline he was a back up singer and father of two children with actress Shar Jackson. After a couple of months of dating Britney and Kevin announced that they would be married.

On September 18, 2004, they announced they got married, they had pictures and a small wedding but that was later revealed that the real wedding date was October 6, 2004. Britney did not want to have a pre nup because she believed in her love for Kevin but at her manager and her families’ insistence she had one drawn up.

She later fired her manager for meddling in her personal life. She must be glad she listened now! Britney and Kevin’s first child a son named Sean Preston was born on September 14, 2005. The birth of Britney’s second son Jayden James was born on September 12, 2006. Britney’s marriage was always reported as being rocky but in November 2006, Britney announced that she wanted a divorce from her husband of two years. The announcement came as a surprise to Kevin. Now as the two gear up for a nasty divorce, hopefully the kids won’t suffer too much.

Soon after the video came out and along with the song the outfit she wore caused a bit of controversy, which was great for her career.Her album sales went through the roof. When the album itself was released it debuted at number one in many countries besides here in the United States. Soon after the Britney explosion began, she headlines her own tour in 1999. That album saw such songs as Baby One More Time, Crazy and Sometimes go straight to number one.

In 1999, Britney appeared on the cover Rolling Stone dressed a little too sexy and parents complained that young girls looked up to her and she should not dress that way it will encourage other girls to dress like that.

But Britney stood her ground and let people know that she was getting older and she wasn’t a little girl anymore and she did not want to be a role model. Britney was also beginning her relationship with N’Sync’s Justin Timberlake.

Britney was by now one of the hottest young stars on the music scene. She won an American Billboard Award and an American Music Award but she has yet to grab the golden Grammy, though she was nominated twice she lost to Christina Aguilera and Sarah McLachlan. In 2000, Britney released her follow up album titles Oops! I did it again and that she did, she broke a best selling debut album record; the album sold over 1.3 million albums the very first week.

In the summer of 2000, Britney left to go on tour with the Oops! I Did It Again Tour.

While Britney was scheduled to perform at the MTV’s Video Music Awards, she came out dressed in a black suit to sing her hit Oops! and in the middle of the song, she ripped away the suit to show a nude colored suit covered with crystals. Many people couldn’t believe it, the sweet young Britney was now a full-fledged sexy young woman. But that was still not enough to win a Grammy; she was nominated again in 2000 but lost. She did win another Billboard Award and another American Music Award. Britney did her first endorsement deal in the early part of 2001, she signed on as a spokeswoman for Pepsi.

The MTV Video Music Awards had asked Britney to come back and perform, she accepted and this time she caused another controversy, she appeared on stage with an albino Python snake, causing PETA to boycott Britney, it did not work, people from all over the world were in love with her. In 2001, she released her third album titled Brtiney, again it debuted in the top spot and sold about 750,000 copies the first week. With this album turning more hits for Britney, she made it into musical history. Britney was the first female star to debut at number one on three consecutive albums releases.

Britney’s hit song I’m a Slave 4 U was the hottest video and song for that year. She was nominated for two more Grammies but lost both to Norah Jones. It was beginning to feel like always a bridesmaid never a bride. Britney again was in the news, it was reported by a Texas DJ morning show pair, that Britney and Justin were involved in an accident and she was dead. It turns out obviously she wasn’t dead and they were not even in any type of accident. In 2002, Britney won a role in the movie Crossroads, she was a natural actress, though the movie did not do great, she received good reviews as an actress.

Britney was your typical Southern kid, she sang in the church choir and took dancing and gymnastics. Britney was an excellent gymnasts, she started taking classes when she was 4 and stopped taking them when she was nine. She excelled in the gym and even competed in some state level competitions where she did rather well. Britney was also a very talented dancer, she began taking classes at an early age and began doing recitals and entering in local talent shows.

When Britney was eight when a casting call for the Mickey Mouse Club went out. She asked her mom and at first Lynn was hesitant, she agreed. But when she auditioned the casting people loved her but she was too young, they told her to come back when she was a little bit older. Britney continued to do her gymnastics and her dancing. She also loved singing in the church choir. When Britney was 11 years old she went back to another casting call for the Mickey Mouse Club and this time the producers were blown away, she could sing, dance and act. This time they hired her immediately.

Britney did the Mickey Mouse Club for two years along side of Kerri Russell star of TV’s Felicity, two future members of the boy band N’Sync JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake whom she would later date and Christina Aguilera. After her run on the Mickey Mouse Club she took a break. In late 1997 she was referred to an agent, she put together some songs and her and Lynn went to New York to meet with the agent. They loved what they heard so they put together a demo tape and gave it to Jive Record’s Jeff Fenster who fell in love with the music.
