Britney Spears Biography
Britney Jean Spears was born December 2, 1981 in McComb, Mississippi.
A short time after she was born her parents moved with her and her older brother Brian to Kentwood, Louisiana where her mom still lives today.
Her parents Lynne and James raised Britney, Brian and younger sister Jamie-Lynn as Southern Baptists. Britney and her brother used to attend church regularly when they were small kids before Jamie-Lynn was born.
Britney was your typical Southern kid, she sang in the church choir and took dancing and gymnastics. Britney was an excellent gymnasts, she started taking classes when she was 4 and stopped taking them when she was nine. She excelled in the gym and even competed in some state level competitions where she did rather well. Britney was also a very talented dancer, she began taking classes at an early age and began doing recitals and entering in local talent shows.
When Britney was eight when a casting call for the Mickey Mouse Club went out. She asked her mom and at first Lynn was hesitant, she agreed. But when she auditioned the casting people loved her but she was too young, they told her to come back when she was a little bit older. Britney continued to do her gymnastics and her dancing. She also loved singing in the church choir. When Britney was 11 years old she went back to another casting call for the Mickey Mouse Club and this time the producers were blown away, she could sing, dance and act. This time they hired her immediately.

Britney did the Mickey Mouse Club for two years along side of Kerri Russell star of TV’s Felicity, two future members of the boy band N’Sync JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake whom she would later date and Christina Aguilera. After her run on the Mickey Mouse Club she took a break. In late 1997 she was referred to an agent, she put together some songs and her and Lynn went to New York to meet with the agent. They loved what they heard so they put together a demo tape and gave it to Jive Record’s Jeff Fenster who fell in love with the music.
In 1998, Britney began recording songs for debut album titled Baby One More Time. She began doing a series of small concerts that were sponsored by American teen magazines. Audiences liked what they heard and she later joined N’Sync as their opening act. By the end of 1998 they record company released her single Baby One More Time and it was an instant hit. The airplay alone on that song made Britney a household name. Then they released then video and every teenage boy and then some wanted to marry Britney Spears.
